This personal profile video explores the creative journey of Leatrice Borromeo, a Toronto-based multimedia artist. Through an interview and observational footage, the piece looks at how she found her way into art, the experiences that shaped her creativity, and the ideas that continue to influence her work today.

In the interview, Leatrice reflects on her beginnings as an artist and her evolution into multimedia work. She describes her creative approach as experimental and avant-garde, with an interest in continuously exploring both new and traditional techniques. The profile also touches on the challenges of maintaining a creative practice and navigating what it means to be an artist in a rapidly changing creative landscape.

To bring her story beyond the interview, I followed Leatrice through different parts of her everyday life and creative environment. Supporting footage includes her DJing at an event she co-organized with friends, spending time around the city, working at her college, and sharing parts of her creative process. I also incorporated samples of her artwork and multimedia projects that she provided for the video, helping give viewers a broader look at her practice and visually connect her reflections to the work she has created.

I was responsible for the interview production, cinematography, location footage, sound recording, and post-production. The interview was filmed using a two-camera setup to capture different perspectives, while audio was recorded separately using an external microphone and synchronized during editing. The final piece was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro, combining the interview, observational footage, samples of Leatrice's work, natural sound, music, and graphics into a short documentary-style profile.

This project allowed me to explore interview-based and observational storytelling, using Leatrice's own voice as the foundation of the narrative while building a fuller picture of her creative practice through the environments, activities, and artwork that surround it.
